Let Ciara’s Response About Her Split From Future Help You Get Through Your Next Breakup

Ciara just made the most beautifully mature and level-headed response regarding her split from Future, and everyone should seriously take note.

Ciara & Future Split
Ciara ended her engagement to rapper Future.

The 29-year-old songstress sat down with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club on Tuesday morning, opening up about her split from her former fiance and honestly saying she regrets nothing about the failed relationship.

“It clearly didn’t work out,” Ciara said. “But I have the greatest gift, the greatest joy of my life is my son [Future Jr.]. Honestly, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason and my son has been the greatest gift that God has given me in my life and been the most game-changing thing that’s happened to my life, in a necessary way.”

When asked about specifics leading up to the split (Future reportedly cheated on her), she didn’t even feel the need to address them.

“I can’t really break all that down because I don’t event think it really matters to tell you the truth,” she admits. “Especially when the ending is great as it is with my son. That’s what worked out, my son.”

Ciara continued, adding that she’s capable of maintaining a cordial relationship with her ex in order to give her baby boy the parenting he deserves.

“We’re cool,” she says of her relationship with Future. “We have a child together and as a parent it’s important to be able to communicate. We don’t talk every day, there’s no need to. But my son is clearly the connection between he and I and as parents I think it’s important to be able to communicate.”

But the most important piece of advice Ciara delivered during the interview? Let go of the past and seek happiness in the present.

“I like to stay happy and I like to live life light and make the best of life,” the singer added. “And I think that when you carry a certain kind of energy, if you have like a funky energy that you hold within yourself, you just can’t grow.”
