Jeremy Renner: Fatherhood Has ‘Screwed My Career’
Jeremy Renner is opening about what it’s like to be a father to 2-year-old Ava Berlin. In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, airing today (Apr. 15), the movie star says it’s the “greatest thing in the world.”
“I mean, it really kind of changed my perspective on a lot of things,” he says. “It’s kind of screwed my career in a lot of ways… because I don’t really care about it so much ‘cuz I care about her so much. She’s like number one in my life. And now I get to do movies on the side. Daddy’s my best role to date I think.”
Yes, those words are pretty sweet and everything, but we’d like to remind you, Renner’s said this before.
“I really mean it, she has ruined it,” he told Capitol File at the time. “Because what I used to think I loved so much — I love my job, I love what I do and I’ve given my entire life to what I do — and she comes around and kind of steps all over that.”
Renner, 44, has since split from Pacheco and the two recently ended a nasty custody battle over Ava. The Mission Impossible star now shares custody of their daughter with his ex and pays $13,000 a month in child support.
