Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor Join the Cast of Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Two more amazing cast members have been added to Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast: Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor.

Tucci and McGregor join the previously confirmed cast that consists of Emma Watson (Belle), Dan Stevens (Beast), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) and Luke Evans (Gaston), as Cadenza the Grand Piano and Lumière respectively.

If you don’t recall Tucci’s character, it’s because there was no Cadenza in the original classic. Variety reports that he’ll be playing the newly-created character, described as a “neurotic maestro”.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter describes McGregor’s womanizing character Lumière as “a suave maitre d’ who is turned into a candelabra by the curse that falls on the prince’s castle.” Lumière notably sings the song “Be Our Guest,” which McGregor undoubtedly will perform excellently (let’s not forget his star power in Moulin Rouge (2001).

With production set to begin later this year, the anticipation is building for Disney’s next live-action creation, following in the footsteps of remakes like Maleficent (starring Angelina Jolie) and Cinderella (starring Lily James).

Disney also has plans to reboot favorites like The Jungle Book (to be directed by Jon Favreau), Mulan, Winnie the Pooh, and Dumbo (to be directed by Tim Burton).

Bill Condon is set to direct the script by Stephen Chbosky, and Beauty and the Beast sadly won’t premiere on the big screens until March 17, 2017.
