The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Sequels Get Release Dates: Find Out When Christian Grey Will Return

CALLING ALL FIFTY SHADES OF GREY FANS: We’re sorry to interrupt your fantasy about whips, chains and Christian Grey, but we have some big news… We know when the sequels will hit theaters!

E.L. James' Husband to Write 'Fifty Shades Darker'
E L James has enlisted her husband to help with '50 Shades sequel.

Just a couple months after the very first erotic novel-turned-film hit theaters, Universal Pictures announced the release dates for both sequels during CinemaCon on Thursday.

You can expect Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) to return in the Fifty Shades Darker on February 10, 2017. Then, they’ll be heating things up on the silver screen yet again on February 9, 2018 — obviously both in time for Valentine’s Day.

The news also comes on the heels of E L James’ announcement that her husband Niall Leonard has signed on to write Fifty Shades Darker.

Meanwhile, the sexy film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson also announced she was quitting the franchise following drama with James.

“Directing Fifty Shades of Grey has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful,” Taylor-Johnson told Us Weekly in a statement last month. “I have Universal to thank for that. I forged close and lasting relationships with the cast, producers and crew and most especially, with Dakota [Johnson] and Jamie [Dornan]. While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three.”
