Meredith Grey loses her person.

[Warning: the following contains a major spoiler from the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy].

Please do yourself a favor and look far, far away if you didn’t watch last night’s (Apr. 23, 2015) Grey’s.

We could spend days driving ourselves crazy with those “diva” behavior rumors and whatever nonsense that could possibly explain why we bid adieu to Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd on Season 11, Episode 21 (appropriately titled, “How to Save a Life.”)

We could even stare at the dreamiest pictures of McDreamy from the past 11 seasons and cry on the bathroom floor while Snow Patrol, The National, and The Fray play in the background.

We could even take apart Dempsey’s exit interview with Entertainment Weekly and ask ourselves why he didn’t cry on his last day of shooting. (“I’m still processing it,” he claims).

But friends and doctors, we’re better than that. We owe Mer’s Der this much. Let’s wipe away the tears and celebrate his beautiful face (and equally beautiful work) at Seattle Grace/Seattle Grace Mercy West/Grey-Sloan Memorial with this beautiful moment from Season 5, Episode 19.

We’d like to think that somehow, in a place not named Shondaland, McDreamy is happy and full of hope and love in his own little elevator of beautiful brain scans.
