WATCH: Kim Kardashian Cheers On Bruce Jenner in an Interview With Matt Lauer on ‘Today’
She is overwhelmed with excitement that Jenner has found “inner peace” with himself and is finally able to live life openly as the person that has been pent-up inside.
That’s what life is about. I don’t know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren’t yourself. As long as he is happy … that just makes me happy. And I support him 100 percent.
According to Kim, the Kardashian clan is also making a transition alongside of Jenner, taking positive steps to become informed on the specifics of transgender culture.
We have been talking to people from the GLAAD organization and other organizations on what [to] call him. Do we say ‘him’ or ‘her’? How do we be respectful? There are so many things that you just want to be supportive.
Say what you want about us, but we work out everything as a family and we have the best communication. I love having so many siblings and such a supportive mom because, you know, each family member might be dealing with this in a different way, but we have each other to go through this experience with.”
Kardashian shared with Lauer that her stepfather is inspired that the publicity of his transformation has empowered others who are struggling with battles of personal identity.
He is ready for the challenge and ready to help other people’s lives that might be going through the same things that he’s going through. And that’s something that he’s really proud of, and that’s something that he is really ready to take on.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star foreshadows that the gold medalist will rise from this experience stronger than ever, in the best shape of his athletic career:
When you are finally ready to be your true self, then you’re ready for anything.
Go, Bruce. Go.
