Bruce Jenner Threatening Legal Action Over Illegally Obtained Dress Photos
Bruce Jenner is reportedly ready to sue after photos of him wearing a dress were illegally obtained and published.
Last week, before Jenner talked about his transition in an emotional sit-down interview on 20/20 with Diane Sawyer, photos that allegedly show Jenner wearing a dress at his house in Malibu were published online.
The photos were reportedly taken by paparazzi using telephoto lenses. The lenses allow them to shoot the photos from a distance. But, because they were taking the photos and invading Jenner’s privacy, it makes them illegal. Jenner even called the police when he spotted the paparazzi taking photos of him at this house in Malibu.
The New York Daily News published the photos and the pics were also shown on a CNN segment titled “Caught on Camera: Bruce Jenner’s New Look?” But, Jenner complained that this was a violation of his privacy, and the photos were taken down from both publications’ websites.
A Jenner spokesperson told Page Six, “Both Daily News and CNN pulled the photos sold to them by X17 once they found out they were illegally obtained. The agency no longer is selling those photos [since] they confirmed they were shot illegally.”
Marty Singer, Jenner’s attorney, told the site, “The photos were clearly unlawfully taken from a very long distance using an enhancement device. Bruce Jenner is going to enforce his right to privacy.”
Photos were also published that allegedly showed Jenner wearing a bikini top. But, it hasn’t been confirmed that the photos are of Jenner. Plus, they haven’t been mentioned by any Jenner representatives.
On Jenner’s 20/20 interview, two of his three previous wives, Chrystie Scott and Linda Thompson, each gave statements on his transition. During the show, Sawyer said that his ex-wife, Kris Jenner, had declined to comment.
Kris responded by saying that she wasn’t asked for a comment. But now, People has a statement from ABC which says, “ABC News sent an email to her publicity team more than once. They called and said no comment.”
After the interview, Kris called her ex-husband her “hero” on Twitter.
