Nick Jonas on Ex-Girlfriend Miley Cyrus: It’s ‘Unfortunate’ That We’re No Longer Close
In his latest interview with Elle magazine, the former Disney Channel star opens up about his dating history and going out with musicians, admitting that he “probably” has had a girlfriend who “didn’t like [his] music.”
“They probably wouldn’t come out and say it. That would be pretty rude. I think that dating other musicians can be complicated at times. Especially when they think highly of themselves,” he explains, noting that he’s “not necessarily” referring to anyone specific. “But it does complicate things. That’s probably why I’m no longer with those people.”
While speaking about Cyrus, who he dated from June 2006 to December 2007, the singer says he has no ill will towards his former flame. In fact, the 22-year-old confesses that he’s more grateful for the relationship than anything else.
“I was so young. What’s unfortunate is that, as we got older, we ran in different circles,” he tells the publication. “We’ve always had respect and wished the best for each other. I don’t know that I have any regrets. It’s more gratitude for having had a good friend in a time of craziness in my life and in hers.”
As for his sex life, Jonas says the only thing he’d change about it is the music he played during the first time he ditched his infamous purity ring and did the deed.
“I think I would change the song. I don’t want to say what song it was, but it was depressing,” he admits, adding that he would “never” have sex to his own music. “My iPod was on shuffle. It was a bad draw.”
