Nicki Minaj Performs, Gives Life Advice at 13-Year-Old’s Bar Mitzvah
Matt Murstein, 13, got the surprise of his life this weekend when Nicki Minaj showed up to perform at his Bar Mitzvah. The celebration took place on Saturday (Apr. 25, 2015) at the Pierre Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The female rapper came prepared with a seven-song set list, including her 2011 hit “Super Bass.”
After the performance, Minaj offered up important life advice for the pre-pubescents in the room and posed for pictures with almost all 150 young guests.
Priceconomics shows that Minaj’s appearance cost anywhere from an estimated $200,000 to $300,000. Fortunately, this only makes a small dent in the Murstein family funds. Matt’s father is Andrew Murstein, the founder, President, and largest shareholder of Medallion Financial Corp., a publicly traded company with an estimated $259 million market cap, according to Business Insider.
“Get a load of these little hunks I met last night @ the bar mitzvah,” Minaj posted to Instagram, “They were very ummm turnT.”
Below is a clip of her “Super Bass” performance:
And her motivational speech:
“Get an education, stay in school, and don’t be a slouch or a bum. And ladies, never let a man have to take care of you. Do you understand me? Be your own woman. Be your own person. Do you understand me?”
Welcome to adulthood, Matt.
