WATCH: Amy Schumer Parodies One Direction and Awful Beauty Standards in ‘Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup’

Amy Schumer, the comedy Queen whose skewering of Hollywood is as delightful as it is honest, targets One Direction and sexist pop songs in this mockery from her latest episode of Inside Amy Schumer.

The parody video (above) entitled “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup” sounds an awful lot like “What Makes You Beautiful,” and begins with the pretty foursome showing her their love for her natural beauty and “inner, natural glow”, asking her to “wipe it off” because she’s “perfect when [she] wakes up.”

That is, until she removes all her makeup and they realize they “spoke too soon” and would much rather see her wearing makeup than going au-natural – “just put it on.” And so follows lines like “girl I can’t be seen with the ghost from the ring,” “I didn’t know that your lashes were so stubby and pale,” and “just a little mascara and you’ll look female.”

Schumer also encouraged ladies to post their #girlyoudontneedmakeup pics on social media, with fantastic and empowering results. She then posted everyone’s gorgeous no make-up selfies to her Twitter feed:

She then linked to a report on Pay Equity and Discrimination from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research:

Watch the video above and laugh out loud at Amy Schumer’s the misogynistic pop song! Thanks Amy for putting down these sexist beauty standards.
