Bruce Jenner’s Ex-Wives Linda Thompson, Chrystie Scott Show Support in New Photo
Bruce Jenner’s ex-wives club has a strong message for the world.
The friendly exes sandwich comes nearly one week after the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed that he is transitioning to a woman. Following the ABC broadcast, Jenner’s family, including Thompson and Scott, shared messages of love and praise for the 65-year-old.
Thompson’s Instagram caption refers to her Huffington Post piece, “How Living With and Loving Bruce Jenner Changed My Life Forever,” which was published shortly after Jenner’s interview.
“Now, many years into his remarkable life, he has spoken out. His legacy will likely be sprinkled with references like “Olympian,” “decathlon gold medalist,” “world’s greatest athlete,” “son,” “brother,” “husband,” “father,” “grandfather,” “friend,” and, hopefully, “pioneer” and “trailblazer for the civil rights of the transgender community.”
Jenner and Thompson were married for three years in the ‘80s and have two adult children, Brandon, 33, and Brody, 31. Jenner and first wife Scott split in 1981 after nearly a decade of marriage and are parents to Burt and Cassandra.
As revealed in his ABC interview, Jenner told Scott about his gender issues in their first year of marriage.
“It was such a shock to me, but he opened up his heart and confessed,” Scott said on Good Morning America earlier this week. “He had to share this deep, dark secret and he told me he always wanted to be a woman and, understandably, I was speechless. I didn’t really know what to say.”
Meanwhile it was just revealed that Jenner’s third (and now ex) wife Kris Jenner “never knew Bruce wanted to be a woman.”
According to a People source, “She thought Bruce had a little quirk and he asked her to keep it a secret, so she did.”
Jenner will star in a new 8-part docuseries chronicling his transition later this summer on E! The network is also expected to air a Kardashian family special focusing on Jenner’s transition.
