Matthew McConaughey sums up how 'Star Wars' fans feel best.

It’s a good day to be a Star Wars fan.

Vanity Fair did the fandom a solid by unveiling its new Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens cover — and some of its issue’s never-before-seen, Annie Leibovitz-shot cast photos — appropriately on May the Fourth. The highly anticipated issue also reveals major secrets revolving the very hush-hush project, including the the roles of newcomer Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong’o.

As speculated, Girls actor Driver’s Kylo Ren is “next-generation” villain in the movie. In his character portrait, the new baddie is seen “command[ing] star troopers loyal to the evil First Order on the frozen plains of a secret base.”

Meanwhile, Nyong’o will play a CGI character named Maz Kanata. While her allegiance is still unknown, the publication lists her character as a “pirate.”

Other photos featured from the strictly guarded set include Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron standing next to his X-wing fighter and Daisy Ridley’s Rey riding on a speeder through a busy market on Jakku.

All in all, this teaser will get you super pumped for the movie — even if its release is 227 days away. For now, click through the gallery above to see some of the cast photos.

Vanity Fair’s new issue hits newsstands May 12.
