Here’s Who Violated the 2015 Met Gala’s Social Media Ban
Apparently, no selfies means “take as many selfies as you want.”
Last week, it was reported that Anna Wintour et al. informed this year’s Met Gala guests of a social media ban (because let’s face it, cellphones are not the classiest accessory to all those tuxes and ball gowns).
“The use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala,” according to a notice nabbed by Page Six.
Well folks, the Met Gala happened last night (May 4, 2015) and a billion selfies were taken from inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. OK, maybe not a billion, but here’s a healthy sampling of selfies, ussies, and other postcards, courtesy of Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, all her model friends, and duh, Kim Kardashian.
So epic (and confusing):
Most powerful bathroom selfie ever?
Night at the museum with Anne Hathaway and Nini:
What would Anna say?
No Teeth Allowed:
Do you think Gaga told herself, “If I close my eyes, it’s not real and this photo never happened”?:
Does this break the record for the number of models in a bathroom selfie?
Up close and personal with Kendall:
Call the cops: there’s too much hotness in this photo
Kerry Washington broke the rule too:
Twice. (Hey, Alicia Keys):
Coming this fall: Keeping Up With Marc Jacobs, Cher, and Kimye
Forget it, Cher and Kim Take the World sounds better:
What about Kim and Gaga Take the Universe?
The newly installed Booty Wing at the Met:
All in all, the whole breaking the rules thing was worth it. I mean:
Stella McCartney got in on the social media fun, too.
Technically, Katy didn’t break the rule. But she did repost this selfie (and we should see it again):
Even the Biebs looked pretty good:
See you and your selfies next year, famous people!
