Kim Kardashian, who was out to promote the launch of her 400-plus page book, banned fans from taking their own.

The 34-year-old reality TV star reportedly banned selfies at her Selfish book signing at Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue in New York City in order to prevent congestion as hoards of fans had camped outside the venue over night.

Guests were informed that “the use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted”.

Although Kim did take one of her own at the event:

Her appearance did also attract a group of anti-fur protestors. During the middle of her book signing the protestors marched up to her and demanded that she stop wearing fur coats.

In the clip, spotted by Gossip Cop, Kardashian keeps her cool and continues to sign books as people yell in her face, telling her she’s “the most disgusting human being on the planet.”

Security is also seen trying to quickly remove the activists from the signing, with a police offer also on hand. “You need to stop wearing fur. It’s horrible. You’re a terrible person,” one protester tells Kardashian. Another protester berates her, “Can you make [the autograph] out to all the animals that have been tortured and killed for you to wear a fur coat?”

A third protester says, “Kim, do you know how many animals are tortured and killed for your jackets? Do you know how many animals are skinned alive and anally electrocuted?”

Kardashian was also that told she’s a “murderer,” and people repeatedly shout, “Shame on you!” Watch the drama unfold in the clip below.
