Mariah Carey Finally Explains the Meaning Behind Those ‘Infinity’ Lyrics

A lot of people assumed Mariah Carey’s “Infinity” lyrics — “Boy, you actin’ so corny like Fritos” — are about Nick Cannon. So the songstress has decided to clear the air.

Mariah Carey's Shady Song
Mariah Carey shades Nick Cannon in new song.

In a new Funny or Die video, the 45-year-old singer joins fans in a faux cooking show during which she teaches them how to make her famous Frito pie while talking about her new song.

Carey swears the song was inspired by an old Italian lover named Frito — not Nick Cannon — who stole her car (and eventually makes an appearance in the funny skit). The fictional ex was played by Jeff Beacher of Beacher’s Madhouse fame.

Her ex-hubby wasn’t the only butt of her jokes. She also says she’s never written a song about M&Ms, alluding to her feud with rapper Eminem after their rumored hookup and split in the early 2000s.

But the best part of the whole thing? When she sings, “and then a Frito comes along,” as well as, “dream Frito, come rescue me” — because I think we can all relate.
