Sam Smith to Undergo Surgery to Fix ‘Small Hemorrhage’ in His Vocal Cords
There’s more bad new for Sam Smith fans.
The “Stay With Me” crooner, who has been on vocal rest after discovering a “small hemorrhage” in his vocal cords, announced on Thursday that he will be canceling more shows from his international tour in order to go into surgery for his ailment.
In a message posted onto his Instagram, the Grammy winner expressed his sadness in missing out on more concerts. He wrote in the caption of his statement, “Bad news. I have my operation booked for next week, so getting really nervous. But by doing this in 8 weeks time I’m gonna be able to sing like never before so it’s worth it. I am so sorry to all. Dreading the next month thou, I can’t speak for THREE WEEKS after the op.”

Three days ago, Smith wrote about the cancellations in another note on his Instagram, reading:
Previously, Smith had to cancel his performances in Australia and an appearance at the Logie Awards.
The singer’s official website still lists that Smith is scheduled to perform in the united Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland, Germany and the United States this summer.
