Bill Murray!

The comedian was Letterman’s very first guest in 1982 and will be his very last. Having appeared on the show a total of 43 times, we couldn’t think of a more perfect person to top off the long list of celebrities who have bid the late night host adieu.

Leading up to the final show, the list included major names like: George Clooney, Julia Roberts (who gave Letterman his final kiss), President Obama, Tina Fey (who wore the last dress on the show) and John Travolta — to name a few.

Other guests to visit Letterman during his final weeks include Tom Hanks and singer Eddie Vedder. The host’s final show (May 20) will be an “hour filled with surprises and memorable laughs,” says CBS.
