The family that is silenced together, stays together.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner were met with a sea of boos at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards while introducing Kanye West’s live performance. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians sisters carried on despite the audience’s undeniable distaste, welcoming their brother-in-law to the stage.

The boos evaporated into silence for viewers at home when West’s pyrotechnic’d performance of “All Day”, a new single from his upcoming album Swish, was censored nearly every other word. The two-song set finished with West wildin’ out to”Black Skinhead” from Yeezus in silhouette from behind a thick veil of smoke.

Of the five minutes and eight seconds of his broadcasted performance, it was calculated that West was censored for a combined minute.

The Billboard Awards producers were probably thankful to have used their budgeted Kanye censorship on the doctorate’s performance rather than on an impromptu commencement speech amid Taylor Swift’s premiere of “Bad Blood“.
