Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar’s Unreleased Collaboration ‘PARTYNAUSEOUS’ Has Finally Leaked
You may or may not remember that Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar once upon a time collaborated on a song entitled “PARTYNAUSEOUS” for his 2012 album good kid, m.A.A.d city, but that it didn’t make the cut.
Well, that track has finally been leaked and it’s pretty much worth the wait.
Listen to it below (before it might disappear!):
Lady Gaga originally announced that she and K-Dot were collaborating on “PARTYNAUSEOUS” for his album back in August of 2012.
After the tracklist was released in October 2012 and “PARTYNAUSEOUS” wasn’t included, Lamar revealed it was cut because of creative differences.
At the time, Billboard reports he told Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, “Me and Lady Gaga, we really good friends. She’s not on the album. We got some records, but when I was breaking down the bulk of the album, the ones we picked, we set them aside for future reference. I already had everything premeditated for this day, for October 22nd.”
Gaga, meanwhile, wrote on her Little Monsters fan site that there were no issues between her and Lamar rather her and his management, writing:
I apologize to the fans that this situation with Partynausous is confusing. To it clear it up I must explain this. When I collaborate with an artist i work solely with them, not with their camps or management. Its purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music. This is why I am not his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city.
Stereogum also noted that Gaga repurposed some (non-Kendrick) parts from “PARTYNAUSEOUS” into the interludes of her ARTPOP tour.
At least we get to hear it now.
