Max Greenfield Makes a Reservation at ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

"AHS Hotel" Cast News
Angela Bassett is going to be "making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga."

On May 25, 2015, New Girl’s Max Greenfield was announced as American Horror Story: Hotel’s latest cast member. Show creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to share the news in an intriguing post.

Greenfield joins a diverse cast of newcomers and series regulars, some of whom Murphy has worked with before on other projects. Confirmed cast members include Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Chloe Sevigny, Evan Peters, and Angela Bassett.

While plot details are scarce, which fans have come to expect as the norm, showrunners Murphy and Brad Falchuk announced in March 2015 at PaleyFest that Bomer will be the male lead, Jackson will join the ensemble, and series regular Jessica Lange would not be returning.

Bomer’s fans will be curious to see if he will bring his smooth charm from Magic Mike and White Collar, or if this will be a darker role for the actor. At PaleyFest, Bomer would not reveal details about the role or address speculation that his character would be involved with Lady Gaga’s.

A longer list of cast members, most notably Michelle Pfeiffer and Alexander Skarsgard, showed up online in early April. This insider information also name dropped a slew of award-winning actors, such as Denis O’Hare, Frances Conroy, and Tammy Blanchard.

As American Horror Story: Hotel is set to begin production this summer and premiere in October on FX, it is most likely that Greenfield’s casting is the last announcement. That is, unless Ryan Murphy & Co. have a last minute surprise for their dedicated fandom.
