Iggy Azalea Cancels Her Arena Tour
Despite protesting earlier this year that her North American stadium tour was only “postponed” due to production deadlines, the Australian rapper announced on Friday that all of dates in her first headlining tour have been canceled.
Ticketholders were notified with an email, reading:
The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been canceled and refunds are available at point of purchase. There will be a new tour planned around Iggy’s new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any inconvenience.
In March, The Wrap reported that the dates were pushed back because the “Fancy” hitmaker refused to engage in any promotion. Aside from the lack of interest and low ticket sales as reasons for the
postponement cancellation, Azalea was also said to have become “increasingly unresponsive to her management” and had “disengaged from her core team” altogether.
Oof. Between this and the recent petition to have Azalea’ Billboard Award revoked, 2015 certainly isn’t looking to be the year of the I-g-g-y.
