FKA twigs Talks T-Pain Ruining News of Her Engagement to Robert Pattinson
In general, twigs isn’t a big fan of the press and never really wants to share much about her personal life to the media. Thus, the way in which her engagement news hit stands was not only intrusive, but also against her personal desires.
Complex magazine sat down with the singer for their cover story describes her expression as “genuinely sad” when the topic was mentioned. However, she promises she isn’t angry at T-Pain or the situation in general. “It’s fine,” she tells the publication. “I’m a pretty chill person, do you know what I mean?”
However, something that she refuses to let happen? Racist social media attacks.
The singer says she found herself “genuinely shocked and disgusted” by the racism aimed at her after she began dating Pattinson. “It is pretty horrible,” she explained. “But ultimately, I’m in an amazing relationship. So it doesn’t matter.”
Still, the fame that’s come with her relationship and her skyrocketing career has definitely taken a toll on her. “If this is what being an artist is, I’m not really sure this is for me,” she told Complex. “This [the press cycle] is horrific. I could be doing dance class right now.”
Nevertheless she continues to feel thankful and appreciative for where she is today.
“I haven’t had an easy life at all, but everything seems to be working out,” she said. “I’m so grateful for that, because at times, especially when I was a teenager, I just couldn’t see how things could ever get better, or how I’d ever be able to do this. I don’t know what I thought I’d be doing. I’d always worked hard at music and at dancing, but I never thought I’d get the opportunity to be doing this, and have the belief of people to give me a budget to make a video…These things are incredible.”
