The Year of Gyllenhaal continues.

Universal has released a new trailer for the upcoming disaster thriller pic, Everest, based on the real life deadly expedition on Mount Everest in May 1996 and Jon Krakauer’s bestseller Into Thin Air. Until last year’s avalanche and the Nepal earthquake in April, the 1996 disaster was the deadliest in Everest’s history.

Jake Gyllenhaal portrays Scott Fischer, an expedition group leader, alongside Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes, and Sam Worthington. Keira Knightley, Robin Wright, and Emily Watson also have supporting roles.

Iceland’s Baltasar Kormakur, whose resume includes Contraband and 2 Guns, serves as director.

Everest opens Sept. 18.
