Justin Bieber Pleads Guilty in ATV Assault Case
Justin Bieber is a bad boy and he knows it.
The singer appeared in a Canadian court via Skype on Thursday (June 4, 2015) and pleaded guilty to simple assault and careless driving in a case involving himself, ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, and a photographer.
As you may recall, Bieber was arrested in his homeland in September 2014 — you know, long before he started apologizing for his wild behavior — when he crashed his ATV into a minivan driven by a paparazzo who was trying to take photos of the singer and his then-girlfriend. A physical altercation occurred and Bieber was charged.
At the time, one of Bieber’s lawyers told People, “Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi. This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault. Mr. Bieber and Ms. Gomez have fully cooperated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved.”
According to TMZ, Bieber has been ordered to pay a $750 fine. He had also been warned by the presiding judge, “The lesson in all of this is to think before you act in the future.”
Considering how Bieber had to fork over $80,000 for his infamous egging incident, we’re guessing this punishment is merely chump change for him.
