Relive ‘Jurassic Park’ in 26 GIFs

Pratt Does 'Park'
Watch Chris Pratt sing the 'Jurassic Park' theme song.

“Hold on to your butts.”

In 1993, millions watched Samuel L. Jackson deliver those very words on the big screen as he shut down the big dinosaur park in Jurassic Park.

The Steven Spielberg film, which also starred Jeff Goldblum (and his abs), Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Richard Attenborough (R.I.P.), would go on to gross more than $1 billion in ticket sales and surpass E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial as the highest grossing film of all time. (Currently, Jurassic Park is at a comfy 17th, snug between Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

In honor of the release of Jurassic World — the franchise’s fourth installment — let’s go back to 1993 in GIF form.

When John Hammond welcomed his onscreen guests, he was also welcoming us, the viewers.

Who could forget the first time Dr. Alan Grant saw those dinos?

Yeah. These guys.

Who could forget how cool computers looked in 1993…

Or when we realized Jeff Goldblum was h-o-t and was the true star of the film?

Especially when he dropped truth bombs like these:

Of course, when all hell broke loose at Jurassic Park, all we could pay attention to was when this happened:

Basically, whenever anyone screamed, we screamed.

I mean, try watching this without feeling an ounce of fear.

Or this.

~J-E-L-L-O break~

Who could forget about the guy who chose the wrong time to take a bathroom break.

For many of us, the scene that made us pee in our pants was probably the one in the kitchen involving these two:

Oh. My. God.

Oh. My. God. (The Tap Tap Remix)

It really is a shame they didn’t listen to Samuel L. Jackson earlier.

He was more than just a chain smoker, you know?

Anyway, let’s pour one out for the toilet guy, Samuel L. Jackson’s character’s hand, Dennis “Magic Word” Nedry (Wayne Knight), and this guy:

See you at the park this weekend!

Jurassic World opens Friday (June 12).
