WATCH: Lady Gaga Brings Down the House With Cover of ‘Imagine’ For European Games Opening Ceremony

Gaga Slays Again
Gaga's "Bang Bang" performance will make your jaw drop.

The Grammys. The Oscars. The Cheek to Cheek Tour. And now this. If it wasn’t yet apparent to you that Lady Gaga has one of the most powerful voices in the industry, it will be shortly.

Today (June 12, 2015), Gaga made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremony of the inaugural European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. She performed a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” while seated at a gorgeous, flower-laden piano. And the Lady herself, it must be said, also looked stunning.

But her impassioned performance — that voice! — is what, rightfully, stole the show. Words won’t do it justice, so watch her incredible performance of Lennon’s classic above.

“I’m extremely honored to be playing at the Opening Ceremony in Baku,” Gaga said, “and to be celebrating all of the amazing athletes who will compete in the European Games in this beautiful city.”

Later, she added of her performance: “I had such a great time with the audience. “It felt like we were in my bedroom singing songs and imagine life was more simple.”

This was not the first time Gaga has performed Lennon’s beloved anthem. In 2009, she sang an equally stunning rendition before an audience that included Barack Obama. Watch it below.
