WATCH: Demi Lovato Joins ‘Get Smurfy’ Cast as Smurfette

Demi Lovato is feeling a little blue.

The cast of Get Smurfy was announced by Sony Pictures Animation today in celebration of Global Smurfs Day.

Lovato will lend her voice to Smurfette while The Office’s Rainn Wilson will thunder down as the evil Gargamel. The legendary Mandy Patinkin, best known for his role as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, will play Papa Smurf.

Katy Perry was the last celeb to dazzle as the fairest vixen in all of Smurf village in 2011’s The Smurfs 2.

Get Smurfy follows Smurfette as she and her brothers race Gargamel to find the Enchanted Forest. It will be animated in 3D and promises to resolve unanswered questions about the Smurfs, including why Smurfette was the only female in existence until Sassette came along.

Kristine Belson, president of Sony Pictures Animation, expresses great hope in the new cast.

We have gathered a group of filmmakers and artists who have grown up with these loveable characters, and ‘Get Smurfy’ will be imbued with the same spirit of adventure that first made all of us lifelong fans of these little blue guys…and girl.

Get Smurfy will unleash into theaters on March 31, 2017.
