Zayn Talks Solo Career
What is Zayn Malik's plan after leaving One Direction?

Despite rumors that he’s returning to One Direction, Zayn Malik keeps releasing new solo music.

On Monday, British rapper Mic Righteous uploaded a cover of the former boy bander covering Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type.” While some were quick to doubt if it was truly Malik’s vocals on the track, a rep for the singer confirmed to Billboard that the cover is indeed sung by the ex 1D member.

In March, Malik released his first solo single, titled “I Won’t Mind,” just less than a week after his departure from One Direction.

“I’ve never felt more in control in my life. I feel like I’m doing what’s right, right by myself and right by the boys,” he told The Sun of his move to seek a solo career at the time. “I did try to do something that I wasn’t happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people’s happiness — and that was mainly the fans. And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them. And, basically, I’m only upset I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way. That’s the main thing that I don’t want to happen.”

He added, “It’s not that I’ve turned my back on them or anything, it’s just that I just can’t do that anymore because it’s not real to me.”
