Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson Will Star in New Netflix Comedy
Kelso and Hyde are reuniting. Well, almost.
Two and a Half Men co-showrunners Don Reo and Jim Patterson are set to create and executive produce the Netflix original series about two brothers who live on a Colorado ranch and take over the family business after Kutcher’s character returns home after a stint as a semi-pro football player.
The Ranch will also be debuting Netflix’s new streaming model: 20 episodes premiering in two batches, 10 episodes at a time, rather than in 13-episode seasons released all at one time, once a year (as is done with Grace and Frankie, Orange Is the New Black or House of Cards).
Deadline suspects that in a bid to expand their audiences through more targeted programming, “Netflix likely is catering to fans of sitcoms like 2.5 Men and The Big Bang Theory.” Which is interesting, considering there’s little diversity with this target.
Of course, another That ’70s Show Alum Laura Prepon is also currently starring on OITNB, meaning Netflix is starting to look a lot like one big reunion for the sitcom’s family
The Ranch will premiere in 2016.
