How does Eva Mendes keep fit?

It’s no secret that Eva Mendes is ridiculously good-looking, so what’s her beauty secret?

The actress recently took to Facebook to answer a few fan questions about her day-to-day routine. While she insisted that she won’t be publicly posting photos of her baby with Ryan Gosling any time soon, the mom-of-one did spill about some of her go-to beauty products and fashion must-haves.

So, which drugstore shampoo does Mendes swear by? Where does she get her vintage dresses? Find out below — the answers will seriously surprise you.

Tip #1: Drink lots of water.

“Drinking warm water and lemon every morning before my coffee and staying hydrated all day long really helps me stay healthy and helps my skin look its best,” Mendes said. “I’m religious about drinking a ton of water.”

Tip #2: Don’t wash your hair everyday.

“For me it’s best to wash my hair every 2 to 3 days as well,” she told a fan.

Tip #3: Use steam to set your makeup.

Apparently, the moisture helps! “Believe it or not, after I’ve applied my makeup, if I really want it to stay all day, I run the hot shower for a minute and I let the steam settle my makeup,” Mendes said. “I know it sounds weird but it works for me!”

Tip #4: Coconut oil is EVERYTHING.

“I’m also on the coconut oil bandwagon. I use it all over,” she confessed. “I use it on my face, my body and even my hair. Couldn’t live without it!” Mendes also noted that “coconut oil on a damp washcloth” is a great way to remove makeup naturally.

Tip #5: Limit the amount of time you wash your face per day.

“Ok, so this may sound gross but I save time by not washing my face in the morning,” Mendes admitted. “It’s one less thing to do and I find that water is drying to my face.”

Tip #6: Witch hazel works wonders on oily skin.

“I have oily skin and using witch hazel helps.”

Tip #7: Put blush on your nose.

She told a fan of her makeup routine, “When applying blush or rouge of any kind, don’t skip your nose. Make sure you apply it a little bit across your nose as well. It makes for a more natural, sun-kissed look.”

Tip #8: You don’t have to spend a lot of money for good beauty products.

Mendes said go-to drugstore products include Psssst! Instant Dry ShampooSt. Ives Fresh Apricot Body Scrub, and shampoos from Pantene and Alba. For when she wants to splurge, Mendes spilled that she relies on Estee Lauder.

“I use my Estee Lauder Dimension tape and serum (they’re life savers!!!) both in morning and at night. I also use another amazing Estée Lauder product called Night Repair. It’s incredible,” she said.

Tip #9: The drugstore is also a great place for makeup. (Just like her own line with CIRCA Beauty!)

“Makeup must haves: cream blush! My favorite is from CIRCA Beauty in Portofino. It instantly refreshers my look. I even use it on my lips,” she said. “I also cannot live without a a black pencil for my eyes.”

As for foundation, Mendes said, “What I use now is CIRCA Beauty Color Balance Liquid Foundation in 05. If I want a lighter look I just mix it with my moisturizer!”

Tip #10: Baby powder works great on hair.

“When in a pinch and dealing with hair that’s a little oily, to use baby powder in your hair and it actually creates a great kind of bed head texture. Make sure you shake all the baby powder out but once you do you’re left with a really amazing texture,” Mendes noted.

Tip #11: Don’t be afraid to buy secondhand fashion.

“Any time I go to a new place I always check out their Salvation Army and Goodwill. It’s so fun,” she said. “You have to be patient but it’s always worth it!”

Tip #12: Don’t let your age stop you from trying out new styles.

“For me it’s not really about dressing age appropriate, it’s more dressing body appropriate,” she said. “But either way don’t forget to have fun with it.”

Tip #13: Forget the LBD. Get a skirt.

“We always need a good pencil skirt.”

Tip #14: Be consistent in your daily workout.

“I do cardio and light weights at least three times a week,” she said.

Tip #15: Moderation is key.

As a Cuban, Mendes isn’t about denying herself from her childhood dishes. “I think eating anything you want as long as it’s in moderation is good,” she noted. “I love a batido de mamay!”

Tip #16: Get a facial.

“Facials! I get as many as I can with different people so I learn a lot about different techniques,” Mendes said. “I love trying new skin products and getting facials from different people so I learn all the techniques out there.”

Tip #18: Treat yo’ self.

“Pamper day essential is sleep.”
