Taylor Swift’s Group of Gal Pals Might Actually Be a Witches’ Coven
In the new issue of Dazed magazine, Lorde takes on the role as cover girl and is interviewed by none other than Lena Dunham. Of course, when two of T. Swift’s besties get together in one article, they’re bound to chat about what it’s like to be part of her inner circle.
Dunham calls Swift “Camp Mother” of the group, referring to her undying support of her pals and her constant ability to get them all together despite their crazy schedules.

“Taylor has really taken control and said, ‘I’m going to get us all together in the same place, I’m gonna make it very clear that friendship is powerful and women are magic and if anybody thinks this is a witches’ coven they might be right,'” the Girls star explains. “She’s just made it her job in a very cool way.”
Witchcraft could definitely explain how Swift has managed to pull together so many different women from so many different realms.
Lorde — who coincidentally sort of emulates a witch on the cover of Dazed — totally agreed with Dunham, admitting that many of her longest lasting friendships are with guys, but Swift helped her find a group of girlfriends she could really get along with.
“[Taylor] definitely brought me into this amazing world of supportive female friendship,” Lorde revealed. “For me, someone starts talking about boys and I’m like, ‘I just don’t know what to say.’ I’m useless in that capacity and that was why I thought, ‘Well, I can’t have girl friends [because] I don’t know how to talk about boys.’ But Taylor just glosses over the fact that I’m terrible at that and she’s just like, ‘It’s OK, I’ll love you for your other qualities.'”
Okay, so maybe witchcraft isn’t the answer… Maybe it’s just that T. Swift is a truly good friend, person, Camp Mother and cat lover.
