Welcome back, Queen Janet.

Janet Jackson returned to the BET stage for the first time in forever on Sunday (June 28, 2015) to receive the inaugural Ultimate Icon trophy. And boy, was it a grand return.

“It’s been a very long journey to this moment,” Jackson said in her acceptance speech. “My heart is so full. Thank you God for making everything, anything possible… To my beautiful mother and my beautiful father. And to my entire family. Your love is unbreakable.”

“Twenty-five years ago we created Rhythm Nation hoping the world would be a better place. But today there’s even more to be done.”

Moments before, Ciara, Jason Derulo, and Tinashe put on their best Janet dance moves in a special Rhythm Nation tribute that included signature choreography from “All For You” and “Pleasure Principle.”

Jackson, 49, is gearing up for what will undoubtedly be an amazing comeback year with the release of her 11th studio album and her Unbreakable World Tour.

Last week, Jackson released the sultry “No Sleeep,” the first track off her new album (believed to be called Conversations In a Café).

Her world tour kicks off in Vancouver, Canada on Aug. 31.
