Ariana Grande Recruits a Pinch Hitter Replacement for the MLB All-Star Concert

It’s one, two, three wisdom teeth and you’re out for Ariana Grande’s All-Star Game.

Grande announced that she will not be performing at the MLB All-Star Game because she had her wisdom teeth removed on Monday. The artist lamented her dental woes on Twitter,

Though Grande’s representatives are attributing her retraction from celebrating America’s favorite pastime to oral surgery, some suggest that it might have something to do with her mouth’s Fourth of July festivities that included licking donuts and denouncing our country.

Grande’s performance will be replaced by a show from Demi Lovato instead. “I’m so excited to be headlining the MLB All-Star Concert,” the singer told E! News. “I hope my fans in Cincinnati are ready to get ‘Cool for the Summer!'”

Major League Baseball’s COO Tony Petitti shared in Lovato’s excitement.

Demi Lovato is one of today’s best young artists and we know she will provide fans with a fantastic experience they won’t soon forget. We’re disappointed that Ariana Grande cannot partake in the All-Star festivities, but wish her a speedy recovery.

Grande has yet to address her donut shop appearance despite fans’ requests for an apology.

The MLB All-Star game airs on Friday, July 14 at 7 pm E.S.T. on FOX.
