Lay’s Reveals Finalists in ‘Do Us a Flavor’ Competition (And They’re All Pretty Tasty-Sounding)
It’s that wonderful time of the year again when we get eat potato chips and call it “research.”
This year, Lay’s has narrowed down the choices to four fan-created flavors as part of its annual “Do Us a Flavor” competition. Crowdsourcing ideas from consumers, the snack food titan has named “Southern Biscuits and Gravy,” “Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro,” “New York Reuben” and “Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries” as the finalists contending for the ultimate prize of being this year’s winning flavor.
Nick Lachey surprised the creators behind each of the flavors at their respective homes during the finalist announcement.
The four competing flavors will hit shelves mid-July. Fans will be allowed to vote for their favorite chip from July 27 until October 18.
Aside from having their flavor remain for sale in stores worldwide, the winner of the competition will also receive $1 million or one percent of their flavor’s net sales through July 15, 2016. Previous winning flavors include “Cheesy Garlic Bread” and “Wasabi Ginger.”
