Former ‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard Gives Birth to a Bouncing Baby Boy

First comes a reality show, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage.

Former Bachelorette contestant Emily Maynard gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday, July 16. The announcement for her second child with husband Tyler Johnson came via Instagram in a photo where it appears that their newest addition prefers his mother as a one-eyed pirate.

God is good. My heart can't even handle it.

Maynard writes,

“God is good. My heart can’t even handle it.”

And neither can we.

The Bachelorette first became a mom ten years ago with her late fiancé Ricky Hendrick who passed away in a 2004 plane crash. She expressed to Us Weekly upon announcing her second pregnancy that she most looked forward the child rearing assistance of her husband.

“The most different thing for me will be having Tyler here to help. I raised Ricki by myself and it’s just been the two of us for so long. I’m just really excited to be present. When Ricki was born … I really don’t think I enjoyed it or soaked it in as much as I wish I could have.”

The couple has not revealed their son’s name. In their last word on the matter, Maynard and Johnson were “still compromising”. “I told Tyler that [if] he gets to pick the last name for everybody, then I should pick the first name and if he wanted to pick the first name, then it can take my last name and be a Maynard!” she joked. “He did not like that.”
