12 Reasons Why Kelly Clarkson Is the Queen of Covers
Got a hit song? Expect Kelly Clarkson to absolutely slay it at a future concert.
On Sunday (July 19, 2015), the original American Idol channeled her inner Bad Gal in Pittsburgh during her Piece by Piece tour and delivered an epic cover of Rihanna’s ballad “Stay.”
“We do a fan request every show, letting someone in the audience pick a song for us to cover,” Clarkson recently told Entertainment Weekly of her concert set list.
“It’s a lot of fun for me and the band because the shows can become monotonous, and this keeps us on our toes.”
Clarkson employed the same fan power back in 2012 when she went on the road with The Fray for their Summer Tour and her headlining “Stronger” world tour.
The “Stay” cover comes just weeks after Clarkson killed it at BBC Radio 1 studios with a stripped-down cover of “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
Here are some other choice covers by Ms. Clarkson. Did we miss your favorite? Comment, below.
Adele – “Someone Like You” (you go, girl)
Sam Smith – “Stay With Me” (because the female Adele cannot be left out)

Justin Timberlake – “Cry Me a River” (falsetto FTW)
Tracy Chapman – “Give Me One Reason” (pure perfection)
Coldplay – “Fix You” (chills, right?)
