Laverne Cox Praises New BFF Caitlyn Jenner on ‘Late Late Show’: ‘She’s Such a Sweet Woman’

Your favorite BFFs of the year (sorry, everyone else) continue to shower each other with compliments on the small screen.

Days after being praised by Caitlyn Jenner in her ESPYs speech, Laverne Cox dropped by the Late Late Show with James Corden and naturally, talked about her new friend.

“What I think is so beautiful about this, my visibility and Caitlyn’s visibility is that diverse representations of trans people in the media are so important,” Cox said on the show.

The Orange Is the New Black star, who met Jenner for the first time over the weekend, also pointed out how different their experiences have been.

“When I think about transitioning in my 20s as a black transgender woman who was working class and struggling to make it in New York City, it’s completely different than Caitlyn’s. It’s a very public experience.”

According to Cox, the ladies’ weekend rendezvous (which was at a private screening of I Am Cait) was “pretty awesome.”

“She’s such a sweet woman, loves her family. And thinking about the whole paparazzi life she has. I don’t want that life.”

Fellow guest Christina Hendricks also gave her two cents on Jenner’s very public transition.

“I’m surprised it’s such a surprise. To me, it’s something that people do all the time now and I’m happy when they can feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, ladies.
