A ‘Space Jam 2′ Might Be Happening

Though there’s no possible way a sequel to Space Jam could ever compare to the original, there’s a chance it might happen sans Michael Jordan.

Warner Bros. made an announcement on Thursday about a new partnership with LeBron James –”an unprecedented agreement spanning all areas of content creation” that includes “television, film and original digital content.”

Now you’re probably wondering: so where does Space Jam fit into all of this?

Well, just this past June, Warner Bros. filed new trademarks for the film, and though it was simply for merchandise, the timing – signing James just a month later – is quite the coincidence, right?

Not to mention, we can’t forget about those Deadline reports in 2014 that claimed a Space Jam 2 was in the works. Sure tabloids will be tabloids, but sometimes just sometimes they have some truth behind them. Plus, King James even hinted at it once:

Again, a remake could potentially ruin one of our favorite childhood movies, but for those of you who have seen Trainwreck, at least it’s safe to say LeBron is pretty hilarious on-screen.
