WATCH: Caitlyn Jenner’s Candid 4 A.M. Confessional: ‘I Just Hope I Get It Right’
It’s 4:32 a.m.: Do you know where Caitlyn Jenner’s thoughts are?
The Arthur Ashe award recipient shares her insomniatic cogitations in a new trailer for the premiere of her docuseries, I Am Cait. Jenner reveals that the burden of being a positive role model is more than just attending Broadway shows and painting her nails on Instagram.
In a bedroom confessional, the former Olympian meditates on the harrowing status quo that looms over LGBT-Q youth. “I feel bad that these [people]—especially young people—are going through such a difficult time in their life,” she says. “We don’t want people dying over this. We don’t want people murdered over this stuff.”
Jenner goes on to question her own abilities as a community leader placed atop of an international soapbox.
“Am I going to do everything right? Am I going to say the right things? Do I project the right image? I just hope I get it right. I hope I get it right.”
The reality star’s first steps in her female identity have already made strides in spreading awareness on LGBT issues. Jenner encouraged acceptance of mankind’s differences in her ESPY Awards speech and appears to be spending time with Laverne Cox, a fellow celebrity transgender activist.
I Am Cait premieres on Sunday, July 26 at 8 p.m. EST on E!. Watch the new clip in the video featured above!
