Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth Take Bachelorette Pledge to Stay Together on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’
Alas, the Bachelorette is engaged.
The couple are now doing their round of late night and early morning talk shows to talk future plans, i.e. their engagement and marriage. Jimmy Kimmel had another more materializing idea for Bristowe and Booth, however, and insisted they take a “Bachelorette pledge” saying they’ll stay together, or else they’ll face the consequences because, he explained, “my heart can’t take it anymore.”
Swearing on a stack of Us Weekly magazines, the couple pledged they were in love, would get married, or would at least stay together one year from last night (July 27, 2015).
If not, Kimmel’s pledge stated “this was a huge waste of everybody’s time,” and if they’re no longer in a committed relationship on July 27, 2016, they agreed to pay Kimmel $1000 (to be paid in a lump sum or over the next 30 years).

The controversial Viall, meanwhile, was rejected by Bristowe on the finale last night, and had an awkward conversation with her on the After the Final Rose special.
“We said ‘I love you’ to each other,” he told Kaitlyn. “That was towards the end, and obviously I took that to heart…I’m wondering what you were thinking? It was more than a moment for me”
She explained, “That’s what happens in this world. You get into situations. I think at the end of the day, no love that I had was as strong as the one that I had for Shawn. I think that is the only explanation.”
Then they were forced to watch his failed proposal together (see below), after which he told her, “Those words I said to you, I’ll never have that back. I don’t understand what the heck you were thinking, thinking ‘There’s no good way, but this is the best way to break his heart.’ “
“I wish that there was more consideration for what we had, or more importantly how it would affect me,” he added after she kind of apologized.
Ultimately, Viall admitted he was immature about his and Booth’s rivalry. He told host Chris Harrison, “I’ll say this about the whole Shawn thing. At the end of the day it was just pretty silly and unfortunate.
“I let those frustrations get the best of me. I ended up not being much better. We let our immaturity come out; we weren’t the best versions of ourselves.”
Nick and Shawn came face to face last night, shook hands and officially introduced themselves to one another. Watch what happened in the video below.
In case you missed it, here were Nick’s parting words in the limo (after he tosses her ring in the backseat):
He’s single, ladies:
