Colin Farrell Cast in Harry Potter Spin-Off ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’

The True Detective actor has been cast in the movie adaptation ofJ.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Farrell take on the role of Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander, who is played by Eddie Redmayne, meets in New York.

Other confirmed stars to appear in the flick include Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, and Alison Sudol.

Based off of a fictional Hogwarts textbook from the Harry Potter series, the expanded story centers around Newt’s adventures as he attempts to document magical creatures around the world. The events of Fantastic Beasts take place 70 years before Harry Potter’s time at Hogwarts.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be directed by David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter movies in the popular film franchise, with Rowling making her screenwriting debut.

The movie is set to be released on Nov. 18, 2016.
