Morgan Freeman’s Step-Granddaughter Stabbed to Death in New York City
Morgan Freeman’s 33-year-old step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, was fatally stabbed in New York City.
Hines, the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, was found in front of W. 162nd St. near St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights just before 3 a.m on Sunday morning (Aug. 16, 2015)
Police say she had been stabbed multiple times in the torso, and was taken by EMS to Harlem Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Freeman released a statement about her death.
The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer. Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.
According to a police statement issued to People, a 30-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre.
The investigation is ongoing.
