Tracy Morgan to Return to ‘Saturday Night Live’ as Host

Is it October yet?

Saturday Night Live Season 41 doesn’t kick off until eight weeks from now, but we’re already marking our calendars. NBC just announced the season’s first three hosts who will be responsible for blessing us with song, dance and plenty of laughter:

That’s right, Tracy Morgan will make his triumphant return to television following hosting gigs by Miley Cyrus (who’s hosted twice) and first-timer Amy Schumer.

But back to Morgan. The NBC gig will be the SNL alum’s first time hosting since 2009. More importantly, the show will mark his first major TV event since the tragic car crash with a Walmart tractor trailer in June 2014.

Earlier this summer, Morgan appeared on The Today Show to speak about the accident for the first time and vowed his allegiance to comedy.

“I love comedy. I’ll never stop loving her. I can’t wait to get back to her but right now my goal is to heal. I’m not one hundred percent yet, and when I’m there you’ll know it.”

We’ll see you (and hopefully, Brian Fellow) at Studio 8H on Oct. 17.
