6 Things We Learned About Emily Ratajkowski That Prove She’s the Coolest
These days, the 24-year-old is busy promoting her new movie We Are Your Friends, in which she plays Zac Efron’s love interest. She was in New York City on Tuesday (Aug. 18, 2015) doing the rounds to promote the flick.
Besides working on her movie career, Ratajkowski can now add editor to her resume since she was the guest-editor for the Third Edition of harper by Harper’s Bazaar.
Here are six things we learned about the model-turned-actress during her interview.
Her morning routine:
“First thing, I check e-mail and The New York Times on my phone. My boyfriend [Jeff Magid] is not a morning person, whereas I am, so I can get my little office hour in. If I’m not working, I’ll lie in bed for an hour. If I’m working, I’m out of bed really quickly.”
Her basic habits:
“I don’t like taking a long time to get ready. I go through the pile of clothes on the floor in front of my closet—I’m such a messy person that it takes me a while to find everything. If I’ve gotten something recently, I’ll wear it for two weeks, then never want to see it again. Two years later, it’ll cycle back around.”
Her love for coffee:
“Every day I go to Blacktop Coffee and get this pastry called kouign-amannwith my black coffee. I always pretend that I don’t know what I’m getting. I’m like, “Um, hmm, I guess I’ll get … a kouign-amann?” They’re like, “Uh-huh.”
Her style icon:
“I was 12 the first time I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The sequence where Paul Newman wakes up Katharine Ross and takes her for a bike ride, set to “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” became my cinematic dreamscape. I loved how she looked in that long white dress, contrasted with her hats and slouchy button-ups later on. Katharine has a quiet ferocity; an honest, dynamic personality rare in female characters. The film is supposedly about these two guys, but she is the heart of the story. I remember wanting to be like her — tough and strong yet gentle, logical but emotional, sexy but understated and cool.”
Her dinner preferences:
“Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people. I love this Italian restaurant downtown called Bestia. It’s kind of fun, and they have good cocktails and wine.
Her nighttime routine:
“I chug water and take off my makeup. I don’t sleep with clothes on, so I just get naked, get under the covers, put on Game of Thrones, and relax.”
