Emily Ratajkowski on Working Opposite Ben Affleck: ‘It Was Monkey See, Monkey Do’

Emily Ratajkowski reveals what she learned from Gone Girl co-star Ben Affleck.

The 23-year-old reflected on her rise to fame in the latest issue of Editorialist magazine. Her most memorable movie scene thus far is her character’s steamy sex scene with Affleck in Gone Girl. Here’s what said about learning acting skills from following Affleck’s example.

It was monkey see, monkey do. You see how this person is doing it and you rise to the occasion.

Her first claim to fame may have been in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video, but her career took off after Gone Girl. She spoke about her experience to People on Thursday (Aug. 20, 2015) at the premiere of her new film, We Are Your Friends.

They led by example. They’re all amazing actors, and I just really rose to the occasion being around that.

While what Ratajkowski said about Affleck isn’t incredibly interesting, these days Affleck’s life is very similar to that of the movie. He reportedly cheated on Jennifer Garner with their nanny Christine Ouzounian, and his character in the movie cheats on his wife with Ratajkowski character. Is life imitating art?
