Jon Stewart Summoned to Moderate a Presidential Debate by Way of Petition

Jon Stewart may be forced out of Daily Show retirement courtesy of Change.com.

Kick off the slippers, Stewart — America is seeking your assistance in the 2016 Presidential Debates. A petition on Change.com requests that The Daily Show host returns on-screen as a moderator for one of the three major debates leading up to the presidential elections.

The campaign presents the argument that Stewart has played an “influential and iconic role” in his career’s political coverage, having interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, among a slew of other political figures.

In a second significant figure from a Reuters/Ipsos poll, Stewart’s viewpoints have been statistically been proven to echo those of our nation.

“Many in the US believe Jon Stewart shares their worldview and values … 52.1% of respondents agree that Mr. Stewart “generally shares [their] view of the world” on “some or most issues”.”

At the time of this article’s publication the petition had over 173,000 signatures and counting.
