Calvin Harris’ Alleged Tweet Defending Taylor Swift Against Avril Lavigne Is Fake

Calvin Harris did not take to Twitter to tell off Avril Lavigne, who called out his girlfriend Taylor Swift yesterday for supposedly liking a Tumblr post that shades other artists.

Earlier today, Daily Mail reported that Harris wrote (then, of course, deleted) on Twitter, “@AvrilLavigne she didn’t judge you she doesn’t anyone! She was only having fun with her fans, not trying to compare you.”

Harris has since taken to Twitter to clarify that he had nothing to do with the defensive tweet, and Daily Mail has since amended their article.

To further make a point for whatever reason, he praised his own success:

As we originally reported, Swift liked a post on Tumblr showing the alleged differences between how she engages with her fans versus other artists, including Lavigne.

This post in particular doesn’t shine a favorable light on anyone except Swift:

Lavigne said pointedly (and rather politely) to Swift, “Comparison is judging and judging a person does not define who they are it defines who you are. We all Love our fans.”

Harris, you may remember, came to Swift’s defense against Zayn Malik just last week after the latter retweeted a tweet that praised Miley Cyrus for saying she didn’t need money, while slamming Swift for her beliefs towards streaming services (basically wanting to be compensated in exchange for letting people listen to her music). They got into a weird Twitter squabble then somewhat made up.

So it’s believable that Harris would once again come to his girlfriend’s defense like a protective, tweeting guard dog.

But alas, he picks and chooses his battles wisely.
