A true measure of Kanye West‘s talent would be the execution of interrupting his own speech when accepting the 2015 MTV Video Vanguard Award.
MTV announced on Aug. 25 that the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award will be presented to Kim Kardashian‘s
better other half who once confessed that his greatest pain in life is that he will never be able to see himself perform live.
Also known as MTV’s Lifetime Achievement Award, this accolade is awarded to musicians who have made an impact on pop culture in honor of their body of work. The Vanguard Award has been presented to mega-artists including The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Madonna in the first years following its inauguration in 1984. The award was renamed in 1991 to honor its 1988 recipient and has been prized to Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé over the past three years.
