2015 MTV Video Music Awards: Justin Timberlake and More Celebs React to Kanye West’s VMA Speech

Kanye West stole the show at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards with his erratic, ranty Vanguard Award acceptance speech and announcement that he’s running for president in 2020 (all while high, too).

Truthfully, nothing beats your first presidential bid announcement when you’re a rapper-turned-fashion designer who’s married to the Queen of reality TV, Kim Kardashian. But of course, when Ye’s on stage with a mic, you know that’s not all that happened.

After saying he was a fighter for artists and yet disrespectful to artists (a “contradiction”, he knows), West went on (maybe?) to do the same thing with Timberlake:

I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Ceelo lose. Gnarls Barkley and the ‘Sexyback’ album… Justin, I ain’t trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears bro. And I was thinking like, he deserved to win Album of the Year. Sometimes I feel like, you know, all this shit they run about beef and all that, sometimes I feel like I died for the artist’s opinion, for an artist to have an opinion after they were successful. I’m not a politician bro!

(Which is confusing since the Dixie Chicks took home the Album of the Year award at the 2007 Grammy’s, not FutureSex/LoveSounds…but anyways).

Timberlake commented on Twitter:

Meanwhile, people freaked out about #Kanye2020. This is how Taylor Swift and Kardashian, forced to stand next to one another after the former introduced West on stage, reacted when he made his announcement.

Kim looks absolutely gleeful as she ponders her potential role as FLOTUS:
