LISTEN: Janet Jackson Proves Indestructible with New Single, ‘Unbreakable’
“Hello, it’s been a while. Lots to talk about.“
Janet Jackson is back with a smooth new single called “Unbreakable”, the title track from her first album in seven years due out in early October. The artist released the new song on Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 radio show on Thursday (Sept. 3), the same day on which she unveiled the official tracklist that features collaborations with Missy Elliot and J. Cole.
The official “Unbreakable” press release reveals that Jackson was heavily inspired by the tough experiences in life, namely that of the passing of her brother Michael Jackson. “Inherent in this music will be her feeling that we must learn to celebrate life and the things each of us experiences and endures and how that process can make each person stronger,” the statement reads.
“The Album … contains messages and observations throughout, that are based on the fact that Janet Jackson has lived a lot of life.”
Jackson embarked on the first leg of her Unbreakable World Tour in Vancouver, Canada on Aug. 31.
